The Superperforming Team

Harnessing Emergence
The Superperforming Team is a three day, competency-based learning system designed to accelerate the development of teams in three essential areas: superperformng team skills, rapid cycle performance improvement and cultural best practices.
The program’s strength lies in a proven design to quickly generate unprecedented, second-order levels of improvement in these core dimensions. Not only is dramatically higher performance observable, it can be assessed and documented.
The result is a highly capable, highly charged community of individuals who can participate in, lead, and facilitate teams, energize team members, amplify improvement, and produce results that are focused on achieving organizational purpose and strategy today.
Through a novel and highly interactive learning format emphasizing live practice and Corpus Optima’s Superperformance content library, The Superperforming Team has proven to help organizations:
- Develop robust team leadership and facilitation skills as well as acquire a new set of methods for a more effective team process.
- Broadly apply a highly effective, scalable and proven improvement method and set of performance tools.
- Acquire a new portfolio of skills for leveraging culture and unleashing emergent features in workgroups and teams.
- Develop the high level of involvement required for effectiveness in today’s dynamic and surprise-filled operating environment.
- Measurably increase felt ownership, action taking and commitment to the team and its purpose.
Program Design
The Superperforming Team consists of 12 modules grouped under the following capability areas:
- Superperforming Team Skills to participate in, plan for, lead and/or facilitate Superperforming project teams.
- Rapid Performance Improvement to bring into use a proven method for accelerating improvement.
- Creating Breakaway Culture to cultivate high energy and involvement for positive change.
Superperforming Team Skills
Great teams arise from many factors, including: great planning and project chartering, clear project goals, use of robust improvement methods, use of effective decision making techniques, application of great facilitation and leadership skills, creative and involved team members, and effective management of project elements. This component is designed to create a strong foundation in these core areas, preparing individuals to lead or facilitate Superperforming project teams.
Rapid Cycle Performance Improvement
Transformational performance results require new and robust methods. For practical implementation, Rapid Cycle Process Improvement combined with Lean and Agile Project methods represent the most effective and scalable improvement methodologiies in use today, owing to their superb flexibility and amazing simplicity. The model proposes repetitive Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycles of improvement emanating from rapidly executed small scale tests of change.
Cultural Best Practices
It is not possible to achieve and sustain team Superperformance without energized people. The highest levels of performance emerge from the inspiration, involvement and commitment of every member of the team. The fundamental rules that govern cultural revolutions and transformation in every complex system, including teams, are universal. This leads to a major discovery, there is an unsung hero dormant inside every person and organizations. Superperforming teams release these heroes, in part by promoting a ferociously energetic and cooperative environment, open interpersonal structures, and by encouraging healthy interactions in the group and with others.
